PRANASSAGE® - Pranassage is a one-on-one yoga experience with heavy hands-on assistance that will guide you towards deep relaxation. You will experience the lightness of your being through gravity and pressure while slowly flowing through various asanas (postures). Pranassage calls upon breath, touch, and postures to bring Prana into our conscious awareness. Prana is the vital energy force sustaining life and creation, and it is involved in physical, mental and spiritual health and strength. One of the goals of a yoga practice is to free up prana within the body. Through touch, pressure, and postures, prana is made easier to feel. In a state of deep relaxation, the logical conscious mind is no longer holding back prana.

Through Pranassage, you will be able to experience deep conscious relaxation and physical relief. The mind is directed inward to witness the experience in the present moment and the body is able to let go and open up. Pranassage is available to all. Each session is tailored to your specific needs and to your level of yoga experience. Pranassage appeals to people with no previous yoga experience, as well as the seasoned practitioner of yoga or other active forms of body-mind integration.

As the receiver, you should arrive in long loose fitting or stretchy pants and a comfortable top. I recommend not eating a large meal 2-3 hours before your scheduled appointment.

INTERDISCIPLINARY YOGA® - Interdisciplinary Yoga® is a unique form of yoga that draws from diverse styles of yoga currently being practiced in the West. Interdisciplinary Yoga is constantly evolving as understanding and research into the mind/body/spirit connection continues to unfold. This style uses and respects the ancient traditions of yoga, but is not limited to the past.

Every individual’s body needs to be accepted as it is in this moment. Even the well-seasoned athlete or yogi can learn by slowing down and returning to the origins of archetypal, yogic movement. To respond to these individual needs Interdisciplinary Yoga® uniquely offers a comprehensive series of conditioning movements and body scans, that will assist you in helping you perform efficient movement. It is my intention that while taking an Interdisciplinary yoga class you will have a guided experience that will support your ability to connect, listen and respond to the intelligence in your own body & mind. Private instruction is available by appointment only.

MASSAGE THERAPY (At Blooma- Edina in the Wellness Room)

Swedish - Swedish - This full body massage will help increase the function of your circulatory system. Long gliding strokes towards the heart enhance the flow of oxygen in your blood. This method helps to detoxify the body. Swedish massage helps relieve muscle tension and can help loosen tight joints. A traditional Swedish massage consists of five main strokes: View Description

  • Effleurage: Long gliding strokes used on larger body areas (arms, legs, back)
  • Petrissage: muscle lifting and kneading
  • Tapotement: tapping, chopping
  • Friction: fast motion across soft tissue (think of rubbing your hands together rapidly to create warmth)
  • Vibration: to create vibration the therapist will move an area rapidly with their fingertips. Vibration is designed to release muscle tension in small muscle areas, such as those on the face, abdomen or along the spine.

Prenatal - Prenatal massage can help with many of the changes you experience during your pregnancy. Foot Reflexology - View Diagram | Foot Reflexology is a non-invasive method to help balance the body. It is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. A specific type of pressure on particular areas of the feet can help alleviate: stress, aches, pains, digestion issues and sleep problems. This type of therapy can improve circulation and promote balance. Be sure to mention if you are pregnant or have a medical concern- so that the pressure and areas of focus can be adjusted. Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) -  Neuromuscular therapy will be used to address five different elements that cause pain:

Ischemia: This is a lack of blood supply to the soft tissues which can cause a hypersensitivity to touch.

Trigger Points: Myofascial trigger points are tiny knots that develop in a muscle when it is injured or overworked. These highly irritated points may refer pain to other parts of the body.

Nerve Compression or Entrapment: This compression is pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone. Some symptoms are typically numbness, tingling, and can also include an electric-like shooting pain. Nerve compression may contribute to the ischemic process.

Postural Distortion: This is an imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the body off the natural coronal and mid-sagittal planes

Biomechanical Dysfunction: This is an imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement patterns (i.e., poor lifting habits, bad mechanics in a golf swing or a tennis stroke, computer keyboarding). More easily defined, it is a postural distortion in motion.
View Description

This therapy focuses on the nervous system and its connection to muscular function. Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure to soft tissues.
